A portrait film about Aija Kuģe, an intelligent, charming Latvian woman who is married to a Serb, has lived in Belgrade for 25 years, and is a special correspondent for the American radio station "Brīvība" in Yugoslavia. At the height of NATO air strikes on Belgrade, she continued to report on events in Belgrade, despite increased surveillance by the Yugoslav secret service and NATO bombs. Aija was and is at the very heart of the Yugoslav conflict, as she has gained the trust of all parties involved in the conflict. Aija believes that no conflict can be resolved through repressive methods, weapons or bloodshed. The result of any military action is tears, death, and destruction.

Julia von Heinz’s 80-year-old father dies completely unexpectedly. From his estate, the filmmaker discovers that the former reserve officer was homosexual and had led a double life. The director seeks out Rosa von Praunheim, an icon of the gay movement, to talk about it. The outcome is the portrait of an extraordinary, lonely man.

This time it's about the joys and sorrows of the patchwork family: Ginger, the eternal flower child, has to look after her sick mother, neglects her boyfriend Hans and learns to appreciate nurse Laurens in return. Hans, on the other hand, is courted by Marianne, Ginger's daughter wants to meet her biological father, and son Max is deeply in love.

The furniture manufacturer Albert and the doorman Paul could both be Conny's fathers, the result of a long-suppressed affair between both men and the same woman. This is becoming a huge problem, because Conny is demanding unpaid alimony - from 30 years. Paul's marital happiness and Albert's business future are at stake.
